Looking After Your Smile
Knowing how to look after your teeth for life doesn’t have to be a secret…
Don’t miss out, visit our hygienist today.
What is a hygienist?
Dental hygienists are specially trained to work with the dentist in giving care to patients. Our fully trained hygienist will clean and polish your teeth and advise you on how to care for your teeth and gums on a routine day-to-day basis. The hygienist can discuss your diet, suggest ways to improve and maintain your oral health, and even advise you on ways you can give up smoking, a habit which has been proven to be very damaging to teeth and gums. It is advisable to visit the hygienist as regularly as the dentist. Regular professional cleaning combined with good habits at home will result in a clean and healthy mouth, reducing the risk of tooth loss and making the most of the appearance of your smile.
Why visit the hygienist?
- To prevent disease, regular visits allow for monitoring of the condition of the gums and the presence of plaque.
- To remove bacterial plaque from the surfaces of all your teeth.
- To receive personal advice on your oral hygiene needs.
- Regular visits to our dental hygienist will ensure your teeth stay stronger and healthier for longer.
Hygienist visits are an important part of our ongoing and routine care of all our patients.
Meet our hygiene therapist Hayley
Hayley qualified in 2015 from Leeds University and has been working at Kirkburton Dental Care since 2017. Experienced in all forms of preventive care, she works closely with the dentists to provide tailored care to your individual needs. Keen on patient motivation, Hayley is passionate about showing you the best ways to maintain the health of your mouth at home in between your appointments, with advice and instruction. Hayley says the best part of her job is when patients come back and say how pleased they are with how the advice and treatment she has given them has improved the health of their mouths.
